South Fork Yuba. A perfect place to capture the ever flowing passage of time and water by utilizing studio lighting techniques. The surreal shapes of granite, bent and shaped by years of flowing water, when lit from above reveals within shadow and light new compositions undreamed of.

I've worked as a commercial photographer based out of Nevada County for five years. Photographing under the stars allows me to feel more grounded in myself, and connected to the land I inhabit by witnessing the landscape in a new light. This shot was captured at Hoyt's Crossing in April 2024.

The Aurora Borealis had a spectacular display over the Northern Hemisphere in early May. I went to Scott's Flat Lake to photograph them because of the clear view and reflective qualities of the water.
