Nevada City CHAMP Gallery: "Year of the Neighborhood"
City Hall Art Meets the Public (CHAMP) Gallery is a new exhibition space within the entryway halls of City Hall on Broad Street in Nevada City, CA. Nevada City is a thriving small town with a vibrant arts culture.
The Nevada City Public Arts Commission requests submittals for the gallery on a triannual basis based on a theme determined by the commission. We are seeking submissions for the first official exhibit and look forward to reviewing your submission!
The available space for art installations includes several walls of the main hallway in the downstairs of City Hall. There is also a place where a hanging 3D exhibit could be displayed just before entering council chambers.
Artists are encouraged to submit pieces that address a broad interpretation of the theme of "The Year of the Neighborhood." We are better together and neighborhoods create a framework for people to thrive while also fostering resilience.
Artists can submit multiple pieces for consideration in several different categories including 2-D paintings, prints, collages, mixed media, photography, and panels. Pieces can be for sale and an artist's contact info and price will be displayed next to the piece if desired.
The exhibit will be installed the first week of January 2025 and on display until April 30, 2025.
Deadline: November 22, 2024
