Celebration of Trails - BYLT

As part of Celebration of Trails, BYLT is commissioning two to three (2-3) artists or artist groups to create site-specific art installations that utilize natural materials and interact with the natural surroundings in some way. The installations will be installed along a chosen BYLT held trail or preserve and will be on view to the public throughout the month of June.

Artwork Criteria:
Preference will be given to artworks that utilize locally sourced, naturally derived materials, in part or total. We are looking for artworks that are representative of the community and speak to its history, culture, peoples, and of course, the natural surroundings of the area. Installations must also be durable enough to withstand the elements during the entire month of June.

Submission Guidelines:

  1. A write up of your project, including a project description, the materials used, project theme, and the ways in which the project relates to the community and natural surroundings. This can be as long or as short as you deem necessary.

  2. Artist Bio and CV if you would like to submit one though it is not required.

  3. Two to three photos of the artwork (if already completed) or of other work in your portfolio.
